FridgeFork Condiment ForkI don’t like being in the kitchen much (how can those dishes pile up so fast?!), so I try to make the time spent there as efficient as possible.

The FridgeFork Condiment Fork is an instrument designed to make your (kitchen) life easier. It’s a piece of silicone than stretches over a jar and holds a fork, so everytime you want to fish out a pickle or an olive you will have the perfect tool at hand. When you’re done you can just leave it in the “holster”. Just don’t forget to wash it once in a while, at least… This gizmo is smart, but it can’t clean itself.

BBQ Sword

BBQ SwordA few days ago we featured a tool that helped you personalize your barbecue: the branding iron. Today it’s less about leaving your mark and more about having fun.

With the BBQ Sword you’ll look just like Zorro - that is, if Zorro stopped fighting crime and decided to go out with his friends to get some rest. It comes with a cardboard mask too, so you can rest assured that the families of those hot dogs you just killed won’t be able to track you down.

Idiot and useless? Yes. Fun? Damn, yes! And you can use it to poke the cunning thieves who try to get to the food before the others…

Recycled Magazine Picture Frame

Recycled Magazine Picture FrameWhat happens with your glossy magazines after you read them and learn 10 new ways to make him crazy about you? Mine get demoted to toilet reading for guests, then end up in the trash.

But there’s unusual ways to reuse them. The Recycled Magazine Picture Frame looks incredibly cool for something that’s basically made out of discarded paper. I think this would go great in a house with modern furniture, it’s so funky and different!

However, $20+ is much more than I’d pay for this. You could make it yourself if you save up your magazines for a while, but I bet it does require some arts&crafts talent…

Pirates Skull and Crossbones Black Domed Lunchbox

Pirates Skull and Crossbones Black Domed LunchboxThe pirates vs ninjas debate is endless, but if you, like me, feel that pirates are way better (and they have Johnny Depp!), you will be interested in this.

The Pirates Skull and Crossbones Black Domed Lunchbox will make you the envy of the lunch hall. The skull and crossbones pattern will stand out among all those plain boxes, and who can make fun of someone who brings his meal from home as long as it’s in a box that looks as cool as this?

And remember: if someone’s looking at you funny, he’s a ninja sympathizer. Beware.

Laser Target Alarm Clock

Laser Target Alarm ClockWe’ve come a long way since the simple alarm clocks that just rung or beeped. Technology has been very friendly to the oversleepers and companies keep coming up with the most cunning ways to make sure you get up.

The Laser Target Alarm Clock requires you to be awake enough to aim at a bull’s eye with a laser, which makes sense. I know I couldn’t do it when I’m sleepy, so by the time I could really see the damn clock that’s disturbing my sleep, I would already be awake. Since it’s difficult to impossible to create a reflex to accurately aim a laser, this has potential of working in the long run, too. I just wonders what happens if the remote runs out of battery… You might end up with an alarm that never stops. Would a laser point work?

Top 7 gifts for Mother’s Day under $30

  • Author: Jen
  • Price range: Special
  • Date: May 9,2008

If you are a good son or daughter, you bought your Mother’s Day present weeks ago. But, hm, let’s admit some of us are busy or forgetful and we find ourselved looking for gifts at the last moment. Or maybe you’re just looking for an extra something to add to your mother’s pack of goodies. So we put together this handy top 7 affordable gifts for Mother’s Day to help you out.

How to Traumatize your Children7. How to Traumatize your Children. Doesn’t sound like the right present for a mother, but if she has a sense of humor she’ll love it. Plus you can read it with her, make fun of childhood “traumas” (the infamous naked-baby-on-blankie photo?) and share good memories.

Automatic Needle Threader6. Automatic Needle Threader. My mum likes to sew, but her eyesight is not good enough anymore and threading needles is nearly impossible for her without help. An automatic tool to do that would be a great gift for any woman who likes to sew (even without eye problems, threading needles is no fun).

Solar Car Air Purifier5. Solar Car Air Purifier. A gift for smoking mothers. Bad habit, but hey, she’s an adult and she can choose for herself. What you can do is make it a little better for her: cleaner air in the car will mean a more pleasant ride (for her and the passengers).

Grobal Self-Watering Pots4. Grobal Self-Watering Pots. This one is for mothers who like potted plants, but are too busy to spend a lot of time with them. These special pots have to be refilled once in a while and they will “water” the flowers without any input. You mother will be able to do gardening in her own free time without worrying that her plants will wither if she is not around for a couple of days.

Equal Measure3. Equal measure. If your mum is a bit of a geek, but also spends time in the kitchen, she’ll love the combination of useful and useless. What other kitchen utensil can help you bake cookies and teach you what size was the brain of a T-Rex?

Binary Mom t-shirt2. Binary Mom t-shirt. Is your mum even geekier? Well then she needs a t-shirt to proclaim that. In binary. Chances are a mum who knows binary will have friends who do and who’ll appreciate the t-shirt.

Back to Basics TEM500 Egg-and-Muffin 2-Slice Toaster and Egg Poacher1. Egg-and-Muffin 2-Slice Toaster and Egg Poacher. We all know our mums work hard to keep us happy, so they should be allowed to indulge themselves a little. Two pieces of toast, one egg, instant breakfast with no effort!

A happy Mother’s Day to mums everywhere and hope this little guide was helpful!

I’m Good with my Hands t-shirt

I'm Good with my Hands t-shirtWhen someone says he’s good with his hands, what do you think about? Why of course, Rubik’s Cube, me too!

The I’m Good with my Hands t-shirt was made especially for Rubik’s fanatics and has no sexual connotation whatsoever. Really. You can see the toy there, can’t you? Some people have such dirty minds.

Of course, you can use this to your advantage if you’re looking for someone with a dirty mind. Just wear it on a night out and see who smiles or laughs at it. Now you can start a conversation and see where it takes you… Maybe even back to your place, for a late-night game of Rubik’s Cube. Ahem.

FTW! Mug

FTW! MugBecause I’m a fan of mugs and cups and other objects you can drink out of, I get excited when I find a potential addition to my collection.

The FTW! Mug is only for those in the know. For the mere mortals, it makes no sense. (If you really want to know, it stands for “for the win”.)

I don’t know if it actually works, but such an optimistic mug could boost your morale a bit on a dreary day at the office. Yeah, the boss is a retard and the guy next to you has been chewing gum loudly for 2 hours, but you’re the win! And you’ll go home and be rid of their presence soon.

Remember one thing, though (from the ThinkGeek knowledge base): This Mug is Full of Win (and possibly also coffee, so be careful).

Cthulhu action figure

Cthulhu action figureI can’t remember the first time I head about the Cthulhu mythos, but it was years before I actually read some H.P. Lovecraft. I like his prose, but it gets very tiresome after a while. This aside, I like the Cthulhu that’s made it into pop culture. People don’t know exactly what the deal is with this guy with a weird name, but the idea of a creepy squid monster is appealing (…sort of). Hell, even my WoW guild is named after him.

I have no idea how I got to this page. It was open when I got up and I can’t remember clicking on any link… Oh well, anyway. This Cthulhu action figure is extremely detailed (see the manufacturers’ website for a large image) and actually looks like what I imagined. The figure has articulated wings and poseable tentacles, so you can make it as creepy (or funny) as you feel.

Perfect for Lovecraft fans. Really. I can’t stand action figures and I think this is so cool.

After 5 Cap with Bottle Opener

After 5 Cap with Bottle OpenerHave you ever went out somewhere… bought a beer… and found you had nothing to open it with? Um, no, me either. If I want to take beer to, say, a picnic or the beach, I’ll get cans; if I’m drinking out of a bottle it means I’m in a bar and it gets opened by the staff.

However, if you frequently miss a beer opener… the After 5 Cap with Bottle Opener is for you. It’s a baseball cap (obviously), but it has an opener embedded under the bill. I think the point is that you’re unlikely to forget your cap at home, but an opener is easily mislooked.

But I still don’t get it. How would someone end up with beers that need opening in the middle of nowhere? I’m sorry, $20 for this is waay too much.
