Phantom Mouse

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I’m starting to this it’s a competition to invert the craziet mouse ever. A finger mouse, a mouse with speaker and microphone (?!)…

Phantom Mouse

The Phantom Mouse is a little crazy, but at least it does something (sort of) useful. It’s a normal mouse in all aspects, only it has an extra button. Therein lies all its appeal: the button can be programmed so that, when you click, a certain application is brought to the front or all the windows get minimized. An anti-boss tool if there ever was one. Now you can play Solitaire all day and you’ll only need one click to make it look like you were hard at work doing that report.

Sudoku Doormat

nameI’ve never got the hang of Sudoku. I know the rules, but I see no fun in it. Then again, I never was a fan of logic games…

However, it seems that all the world has gone Sudoku-crazy, so, if you feel included, this one’s for you. It’s a Sudoku Doormat, designed (at least in theory) to keep your guests entertained while they wait at the door. Of course, unless you have a mansion or you are very slow, they won’t have time to solve it by the time you answer. And you’ll have to wash it frequently to ensure it’s still readable. Other than that, it’s a nice little fun idea. And it’s on sale, so now is the time to get it.

I Pirate Music t-shirt

I Pirate Music t-shirtUnless you live in a very remote cave, you have at least skimmed some articles on the issue of piracy. P2P, DRM, RIAA, all sorts of other abbreviations.

If you’re in the pirate camp and proud of it, you can show it off to the world with the I Pirate Music t-shirt. It’s pretty straightforward: it has words and a pirate flag on it. It looks cool. You might get random pats on the back or punches in the face, depending on other’s people opinion on the problem.

It’s quite expensive, but apparently “100% combed cotton with a silkscreened design” means very high quality. Also available in red (for a real eye-catching pirate).

Light Bulb Cufflinks

Light Bulb CufflinksI don’t like suits. They look uncomfortable (most of my male friends agree), they mean “elegance” or “business” (and I prefer casual) and if I’m around a suit, this usually means I too am wearing clothes I’m not comfortable in.

Unfortunately, in most cases the choice isn’t yours. If your job has a dress code, you have to follow it. But no one says you can’t liven it up a bit with some accessories…

The Light Bulb Cufflinks are fairly inconspicous and they look really good even if spotted. But after the meeting is over or the boss is gone, you can entertain your co-workers by just pushing the button on the bottom of the cufflink, which will promptly light up. Fun especially on those long evenings when everyone’s working toward a deadline…

My only issue: the price. A bit too steep.

Monster Coin Pouches

Monster Coin PouchesI always fail to understand how some girls manage to get along with just a tiny purse. My stuff barely fit in my backpack! And one of my storage issues refers to money. I bought a new (smaller) wallet… which is awful for coins. Open it, and coins start flying all over the place… Not good.

I think I should get one of these. Despite the name, The Monster Coin Pouches will not devour your coins. They will just keep them safe until your life depends on a quarter… and they will look very cool in your purse (or accessory of choice).

They come in wide range of models and colors, so no one should have trouble matching them to their bag, or shoes, or laptop.

Geek Panties

Geek PantiesI’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: websites that offer geeky merchandise for girls have a special place in my heart. And I’m talking about useful things, not “ooh, let’s make it pink and say it’s a girls’ version!”.

So, a while ago I got what has since become my favorite t-shirt: I’m Blogging This. I was very happy to see that there is a… companion for that t-shirt: Geek Panties! They come in two models: I’m Blogging This and Warranty Void If Removed. You can make sure you and your boyfriend go well together by getting him one of these I Void Warranties t-shirts and enjoy the subtle joke only the two of you know… My t-shirt is very good quality, so I’m going to assume this panties are the same. Awesome Valentine’s gift in case you have a geeky girlfriend.

What the Frak? t-shirt

What the Frak? t-shirtI had a weird experience with Battlestar Galactica. Friends who knew I liked SF strongly recommended it to me. I saw the pilot, I wasn’t interested. But I had to get what the hype was, so I trudged through the first season… and then, amazingly, I started to really like it.

But I have always hated the “we swear without actually swearing approach”. I can understand the reasons for this, but I hate “Frak”.

However, that’s only my personal opinion… and the What the Frak? t-shirt is pretty sweet. It uses the same approach (”I’m not swearing, it’s a BSG quote!”), but it manages to be funny. And it looks very good. Fans will probably love it.

Chatter Bowl Talking Pet Feeder

Chatter Bowl Talking Pet FeederFrom my experience with cats, they have clear opinions about what life should be like: get petted (when you choose, not that pesky owner), get fed, get enough sleep. And most cats do not need to be coaxed into eating.

So… What’s the point of the Chatter Bowl Talking Pet Feeder? Actually, it might not be completely useless. How it works: you record a 10 second message and, the next time the cat (or dog) gets close to the bowl, it is played back.

In most cases, it would be pointless. I doubt a cat has trouble eating just because the bowl doesn’t talk to it. However, it might be useful for animals suffering from separation anxiety. If your pet doesn’t just gobble everything up the moment you feed it, you could leave more food in the bowl, so it can hear your voice all day, while you’re at work.

I still say it’s too expensive, but then again I’ve never had this type of pet trouble, so who knows?

TOASTED Notes

TOASTED NotesI don’t know if this is useful or not. It takes up space and the post-its are pretty small. But it just looks so good!

TOASTED Notes. Huh? Simple, a post-it dispenser shaped like a slice of toast. Very realistic, I get hungry just looking at it. It would make a nice addition to your desk - and you can laugh at your confused co-workers.

The only problem? You might try eating it, and I have a hunch it’s not as tasty as a real piece of toast.

Scratch Lounge

Scratch LoungeWe had bird-lovers, now what about cat-owners? I’ve only taken care of a cat for two weeks, and I know how “attached” they can get to my (new) furniture…

So, if this thing works, it will probably be a hit. Half my friend say cats scratch furniture because they want to piss you off, half say they’d use a scratch pad if they had one. You can test this theory by buying a Scratch Lounge for your cat.

What’s a Scratch Lounge? It’s a scrach pad with sides, which apparently makes it more confortable for your feline friend, who won’t want to desert it in favor of, say, a chair or a sofa. The cat in this video seems happy enough (with the scratch lounge, not so much with the other cats who want to steal its place):
