21st Century Pirate t-shirt
What’s a pirate? How many of you thought “someone who downloads and distributes files ilegally”, I wonder? What about Long John Silver? Or, to use a more recent example, Jack Sparrow? While sea piracy still exists, the meaning of the word has broadened to encompass (part of) cybercrime too. But why couldn’t a sea pirate turn to computers if they were more profitable?
The character in the 21st Century Pirate t-shirt is a mixture of both worlds. Parrot, Jolly Roger, missing leg, hook instead of a hand – check. Computer, ripped discs, camera rips – check. It would be pretty difficult to use a mouse or a keyboard with a hook, though, so maybe this change of career isn’t really the best move.
But the t-shirt rocks. The association of the two pirate “styles” isn’t new, but the rendition is almost perfect.
How much under $29.99?
Some: $17 on Threadless.com.
