There’s a whole story about the Cantina Band t-shirt over at ThinkGeek, about how the guys ran into the band on a night out, but I suspect Star Wars had something to do with it.

I did a test on my boyfriend: I just asked “Cantina band?” and he immediately replied “Star Wars!”, so, through this detailed scientific test, I have determined this is for sure a t-shirt for the fans. (For fans only, I might add, because I can’t even remember there was a scene in a cantina in A New Hope, let alone if it had a band in it or not.)

But this is what geeky t-shirts are all about: (more or less) obscure references only like-minded people could get. I’m sure that almost no one understands the message on my “Mostly Harmless” t-shirt, but it’s a great feeling when someone smiles knowingly or when a new person I meet says s/he also liked The Hitchhiker’s Guide.
