Happy Labbit

Happy LabbitI dare you to take one look at this adorable little guy and not fall in love.

A creation of designer/illustrator Frank Kozik, this is the Happy Labbit. And of course he’s happy: he has a lot of toys to play with. There’s 4 sets of labbits, each with 4 accessories, from ice cream and bananas to a moustache and pipe for Sherlock Labbit activities.

If there’s anything more adorable in the world, I haven’t found it yet.

The only sad thing is that getting a complete collection will be difficult, as you can’t choose the model and just get a random one.

Nack Utility Knife

Nack Utility Knife

A somewhat related story: pulling out nails with a snap-off blade utility knife is not fun, nor easy, but a lack of alternatives may force one to do it.

It’s not a common situation, so the blade design makes sense in general: once a part is dull, just break it off. But for impromptu carpentry (also know as disassembling Ikea shelves), a Nack Utility Knife would’ve been the dream tool.

Instead of having to snap the blade off or replace it, the Nack simply comes with a cartridge of 30 blades and a simple turn of the end cap replaces the current one.

Of course, if you plan to pull out nail just remember to bring a pair of pincers. For a variety of other jobs without the hassle of losing a blade at a bad time or of having to fiddle with the knife, get a Nack.

Chocolate Scrabble

Chocolate ScrabbleScrabble is a delicious game. In this case, literally.

Chocolate Scrabble is an intriguing concept. On one hand, yummy sweets and a great game must make a good combination. On the other hand, if you eat the letters, how will you play? (Yes. Sure. You’ll resist temptation. Hah.)

Exercise in restraint it might be, but if you don’t mind paying so much for a box of chocolates you can change the rules a bit: the winner gets to eat it all.

Much better motivation than pure emotional satisfaction… this is chocolate!

Shots Gun

Shots GunHow could a party take place without a Shots Gun? Oh, of course you don’t need one, but think of the drunken fun!

They meant it when they called it a gun: it’s shaped like a pistol, although it won’t kill anyone… but someone could end up passed out on the floor, because it’s the perfect tool to direct a stream of beer at a thirsty man’s mouth.

The “shots” part is innacurate, though; a shot is small, but this is made for serious drinking.

There’s no need for special preparation: it screws onto any regular bottle. Let the boozing begin!

The M&M Musical Ornaments come in two colors, green and red, and they’re not content with sitting there and looking ugly. Nooo, they also sing “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and “Holly Jolly Christmas”, respectively. A

nd because we couldn’t have singing non-animated candy that doesn’t, they also move their eyes and mouths in tune with the music.

Please, next year just stick to candy?

Hype Custom Earbuds

Hype Custom EarbudsIf you style yourself a follower of techo-fashion, you know that custom headphones are seriously cool. But there’s that little problem called “money”… a designer won’t paint them for free.

It might not be so brag-worthy, but a pair of Hype Custom Earbuds will set you apart without the need for any fancy designer’s input (and without a big budget hole).

The earbuds have 3 customizable areas: base (3 colors to choose from), rim (12 colors) and artwork (a lot of patterns). Mix and match, and there you go: you can now listen to music and know that the earbuds match your purse.

Nice Shot t-shirt

Nice Shot t-shirtEverything that comes from Despair.com is cool… and sadistic, so it’s no wonder their special holidays t-shirt has an evil streak.

If you usually hang around young kids, don’t wear the Nice Shot t-shirt… unless you want to be responsible for their nightmares. Although it could teach them what can go wrong with hunting, wearing a dead Rudolph is not the right way to do it.

As for the rest of the adult world: cool and funny design, and a limited edition… aren’t you buying yet?

Mechanical Music Box Set

Mechanical Music Box SetIn the age before iPods and mp3 were all over the place, when cassette tapes ruled, music boxes were fascinating. Especially at 10 or 12 years old. Too bad mum and dad wouldn’t let us disect the boxes…

The Mechanical Music Box Set is a gift for the nostalgics, and this time it’s not about taking apart, but assembling, which is twice the fun. The kit comes with one song (“Happy birthday”), but includes three extra sheets and a hole puncher so you can compose your own songs… less generic and annoying ones.

But we know the appeal is not the music itself. It’s reliving a childhood memory many years after the fact.

Sperm Bank

Sperm BankMost piggy banks are for children to save their pennies. But don’t give this one to a kid, unless you’re in the mood for some uncomfortable explanations…

Despite the name, the Sperm Bank isn’t for that, you dirty people; it’s just supposed to hold coins. Inevitably, it’s destined to either become a joking matter for the whole office/household or get studiously ignored.

To keep with the theme, it should be used to save money for articial impregnation or the children’s college fund. Too bad it’s too small for either of those.

Mouse Hand Warmer

Mouse Hand WarmerAs soon as winter starts making its way in, people start to be fascinated by heat-generating gizmos and gadgets (we even had an entry about some of them).

One common characteristic of all office warming devices is that they’re USB powered, which ties you down and adds yet another cable to the mess on the desk. And using electricity for something so basic is unnecessary sometimes.

The Mouse Hand Warmer offers a cable-free and power-saving alternative… and it’s called fleece. Basically a blanket for a hand, the warmer allows a regular mousepad to be placed inside and it’s large enough to move the hand around freely. The front net allows wireless mice to connect to the receiver and it has a slit to alow corded mouse usage.

The result: no more worries about open windows, air conditioning or cold buildings. Just warm lovely fleece.
