Baby Toupees

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Baby ToupeesI will never understand why people get the urge to make their pets or kids look silly. It’s a cat, it doesn’t wear dresses or “funny” hats. And babies should more of less wear tiny versions of adult clothes.

Would you go out with a Lil’ Kim wig unless you were Lil’ Kim? Thought so. So why do it to the poor kid? At least if you did it your friends could appreciate you humor (hm), but your baby is too young to have friends…

Baby Toupees are silly at best and idiotic at worst. Either way, “funny” is not a word I would use to describe them. If you feel like playing dress-up, get a doll!

Procrastinators Of The World Unite! …Tomorrow t-shirt

Procrastinators Of The World Unite! ...Tomorrow t-shirtProcrastination is a long word for a simple concept. If you don’t know what it means, but you made a mental note to look it up later (despite not doing anything important now)… you know what it means. Some mistake it for laziness… but it’s merely putting things off. I could just quote some scientific-sounding stuff, but you’d be better off watching this video to understand it (funny and informative!).

The fact that, while trying to write this article, I watched the video above, read wikipedia and went to get a bag of chips makes me a perfect candidate for the Procrastinators Of The World Unite! …Tomorrow t-shirt. I can just imagine a meeting being organized. It’s going to be the most productive meeting ever! Only we’ll book the venue next week and we won’t look for a catering firm now because it’s too late to call them anyway and Tom will contact all the members when the time is right (not now, of course, Jim is on holiday and we can’t have this without him).

Skeleton Keys

Skeleton KeysThis gives a new meaning to skeleton key…

The Skeleton Keys are actually key covers shaped like skulls - hence the skeleton reference. True to their creepy theme, they also glow in the dark. It won’t help you on a dark night - since you carry them in your pocket, they won’t have time to “charge”, but it can make for nice effects when you’re bored.

Each pack gets you 6 differently colored skulls, from a traditional white to a lovely pink (come on, what can be better than a pink glow in the dark skull?!)

Gregory iPhone cozy

Gregory iPhone cozyGregory is an iPhone eating frog. Fortunately, he won’t swallow your prized cell phone: he will just keep it safe, along with the headphones.

The Gregory iPhone cozy is as cute as it gets and is handmade from wool felt with a plushy microfiber lining. It also fits iPods, so don’t fret if you like it but haven’t given in to the iPhone craze yet.

I don’t like covering my phones or mp3 players up, so it would take something special to make me get a case… Gregory just might be it.

Clumsy Coasters

Clumsy CoastersAlthough the website is in French, you don’t need a translation to figure out what the Clumsy Coasters are. They’re obviously made to look like spilled water… exactly the thing you’re trying to protect your furniture against by using them.

I never used to pay much attention to my tables and cabinets. That is, until I actually bought my own furniture and starting seeing every spill as a way of losing my money’s worth. I started using coasters then and, while you can get perfectly functional ones for free or at least very cheap, innovative coasters (or dessous-de-verre - literally “under the glass”, as the French call them) can make a very nice touch for guests.

Each set comes with two coasters, making them a bit too expensive for what they do, but sometimes the design is worth it.

Aluminum 2×4 Brick Keychain

Aluminum 2x4 Brick KeychainThe Aluminum 2×4 Brick Keychain is definitely not a LEGO. It’s not made by the company, after all, and it’s so very wrong to call all bricks “LEGOs”. (And “LEGOs” is also a wrong word, according to the company; they’re LEGO bricks.) But it fits LEGO bricks, so what does that make it?

Anyway, it’s not very important. We’ll just call it a metal LEGO brick that you can hang on your keys. Interesting for LEGO fans, of course, even though the price tag is a bit high in my opinion. However, it would probably be more interesting for companies, as it can be engraved: $6 extra for a custom text, $1.50-$2 for an image selected from a gallery or $8 for your own uploaded logo.

Paper Voodoo

Paper VoodooMost people only manage one arch enemy, if that, so they can use conventional revenge methods. But in case you have it out for more and you can’t afford that many menacing phone calls or voodoo dolls or severed horse heads, you need to find an alternative.

While they might not be as effective as a bloody head, the Paper Voodoo sheets offer an easy way out. You can even find two alternate uses. One, the usual: write down the name and details of the curse, then hope it works. Two: write down the name and details of the curse, then place the sheet where the subject is bound to find it. They’ll at least know someone doesn’t wish them well, and maybe they’ll stop doing the offending action(s).

Pets’ Arse Sharpeners

Pets' Arse SharpenersThe corporate world is usually pretty boring. No way to express your individuality through clothing, writing reports all day long… One way of dealing with this is though a healthy amount of silliness (as long as the company policy allows it).

Sticking a pencil in a cat’s ass doesn’t sound very pleasant (or acceptable by policies), but… it’s not what it sounds like. The Pets’ Arse Sharpeners could make someone start using pencils again. They come in two shapes - cat and dog - and each has a sharpener in its ass. That would be slightly amusing, but what makes them fun is the “meow” and “woof”. Yeah, they make the appropriate noise every time you insert a pencil in their bottom.

Childish indeed… though I would love to see the reaction someone has when they try to use their co-worker’s seemingly harmless (albeit tasteless) sharpener. Who’d expect it to meow at them?

USB Soccer Fidget

USB Soccer FidgetIt’s not good for people to have bored colleagues. They can’t go walking around the office, so they sit at the computer tapping their feet or playing with pens or other equally annoying repetitive actions.

The USB Soccer Fidget says it can stop that behavior, and if it works I’m buying a whole stash for future use. The soccer ball activates a desktop mini-game with three game modes; the trick is that you have to keep pressing the ball to control the shooting speed, which is supposed to allow you to let out frustration in a fun way.

I don’t really think it will stop anyone from making annoying noises, because most feet tappers do it all the time, not only when bored. But the frustration part might work; a mindless game from once in a while can do wonders, I tell you.

Pocket Slutometer

Pocket SlutometerIf you’re so much of a stud that you can’t remember all your conquests, and/or so much of a loser that you feel the need to brag with each one, by all means, run, don’t walk to buy yourself a Pocket Slutometer.

This one-of-a-kind device can keep score of every kiss, grope or, ahem, sexual act you perform, and announce it to the world with a siren sound. Oh yes, whenever you input a new accomplishment in your slutometer it makes a noise… which, I guess, means that you at least need to remember what you did with a woman until you leave her side. A loud siren would probably make her suspicious.
