Particle Zoo
Isn’t it cool when someone has a great idea and it becomes famous? Looks like that’s what happened with the Particle Zoo. After a physics lecture, Julie Peasley had the idea to make particle plushies, and the store had so much success she can’t sew fast enough to meet all the demands (so she asked for help from friends).
The Particle Zoo is very large, and each inhabitant has its own enclosure: Quarks, Leptons, Force Carriers, Theoretical and Nucleons, with a special annex for Antiparticles. They are all very cute and each has its own story and personality, so you biggest problem won’t be if to buy one, but which to choose. (I liked the tachyon, so I put its picture up here.)
One final thing I find very cool: the plushies have different filling according to the weight of the particles: some are stuffed with polished gravel, others with poly beads and others with polyfill.
How much under $29.99?
A lot: $9.75 (most of them) on ParticleZoo.net.
