Plush Subatomic Particles
I like plush toys in general (yes, how girly), but unusual ones are the best. In the past I’ve raved about the i heart guts! plushies, the Particle Zoo and the Giant Plush Microbes, among others, so it’s only natural for the Plush Subatomic Particles to follow.
All the above fall in one category, toys for science lovers, and I for one love that the toy industry realized that there’s people who might want something different. There’s also a tiny bit of hope that if a kid gets one of these, it’ll spark some interest for science, when s/he’s old enough to understand it.
In the plush world, a proton is red and has lovely eyelashes, while an electron is grey and happy. Since the electronic has a smaller mass, its plushie is also lighter and smaller. Now all we need to do is imagine billions and billions and billions of them to understand what the world is made of….
