Most toys don’t have a purpose beside entertaining (young or old) children. However, the Potty Monkey does more than just look cute, so there’s got to be a reason for its existence… somewhere, somehow.

To explain: this stuffed monkey has a built-in timer, so every 30 or 90 minutes he asks to go to the toilet. If you help him do it, he says all sorts of cutesy disgusting things about how good he feels (“I feel proud of myself when I pee-pee and poo-poo on the potty.” or “I really like to let the pee-pee out of my tummy. It feels so much better now.” or even “Tinkle, tinkle, and poo-poo. I feel better how ’bout you?”). If you don’t, he’ll plead harder and eventually have an… accident in its diapers.

I suppose the life-goal of Mr. Potty Monkey is to train kids to go to the toilet. I have some doubts it can do that, but I don’t have children, so who am I to say? Maybe it would be even more useful for parents who want to teach big brothers/sisters to help with the new baby. Otherwise, just a silly birthday present for a friend.
