I am continuously fascinated by the alarm clocks that keep popping up. Designers dedicate a whole lot of time to making a sleep-proof clock! Some of them look so annoying that I’m sure more than one will meet an untimely death by the hands of a tired person who doesn’t feel like doing whatever complex things are required to turn off the beeping.
The Rocket Alarm Clock is a sure victim. Just think about it: it launches a rocket across the room, then starts making noise. The only way to stop it is to put the rocket back, which involves getting up and gaining at least some motor coordination back from sleepy land. Odds are you’ll be awake enough not to go back to sleep again… or that you’ll crush the clock with the closest blunt object.
