Any normal human being loathes mornings. When that alarm start ringing, you feel like there could be nothing worse on the face of the Earth, and even more so if it wakes you up from a lovely dream. I hate clock in general, because I can’t stand the ticking and I can’t sleep because of it, so the only thing that rings in the morning is my phone alarm. And I grow to despise it after 1-2 months.

It has to be more relaxing to wake up to birds singing and making you feel like you’re going to glance out the window and spot the mountains outside. Can anything make waking up a more pleasant experience? Most people would say “no”, but hey, there’s no black and white, just shades of grey.

What might be the most annoying sound in the world for someone might be a soothing purr to someone else. Or more a roar than a purr, in the case of the Start Your Engines Alarm Clock. A V8 engine increasing its revolutions per minute in a very noisy way could definitely wake up a person, but it would take a real car lover to enjoy the sound.

However, car enthusiasts have been known to like even crazier things. And either way, anyone needs a clock, even if the alarm doesn’t get used, and the AM/FM radio is a welcomed bonus.

I am continuously fascinated by the alarm clocks that keep popping up. Designers dedicate a whole lot of time to making a sleep-proof clock! Some of them look so annoying that I’m sure more than one will meet an untimely death by the hands of a tired person who doesn’t feel like doing whatever complex things are required to turn off the beeping.

The Rocket Alarm Clock is a sure victim. Just think about it: it launches a rocket across the room, then starts making noise. The only way to stop it is to put the rocket back, which involves getting up and gaining at least some motor coordination back from sleepy land.
