The Sheep Look Up by John Brunner is one of my favorite books. It’s a pretty scary read, considering it was written more than 40 years ago and the polluted world described in it doesn’t seem so sci-fi today. One of the things that shocked me when I first read it was that people had to use oxygen dispensers because the air was unbreathable.

We’re not quite there yet and, although I live in a large dusty and polluted city, I’ve never had breathing problems. Fortunately, the Oxygen+ (90% enriched oxygen) products are not a necessity yet – they’re aimed at energizing and revitalizing you. Among the most interesting uses are caffeine replacement, fighting jetlag and, best of all, hangover cure. They come in two sizes, O+ Stick (refillable) and O+ Mini.

I wonder if it really works like caffeine. That would be very cool, because my body is not very fond of the effects of coffee (hyper for 1 hour, normal for 2 hours, dead sleepy for the next 3).

Mana Energy Potion

Good thing I was alone when I saw this, because not many people would understand my slightly crazy “OMG-this-is-so-cool!!!” reaction. Maybe it comes from the fact that the great moment (level 70) is finally approaching and I’m excited…

The Mana Energy Potion is a caffeine drink (twice as strong as a RedBull, ouch) especially designed for World of Warcraft maniacs. The bottle is shaped like a mana potion in the game and can keep you awake long enough to finish that Kara run… I play a warrior, so I don’t need mana, but what would a melee class be without that healer behind them… (in normal speak: mana is very important in the game.)

The Mana Energy Potion (a wrong name in WoW-terms, by the way, since mana and energy are two completely different things) will give you that boost you need for a night of playing or studying for that exam you failed because you played too much. Just be careful when you drink it – it’s very strong.

Primer Caffeinated Breath Spray

It looks like there’s people somewhere out there whose hobby is devising new and improved ways of getting caffeine in your system (injecting it into your veins probably doesn’t work). Although I don’t like the taste of coffee, I have to admit Red Bull is delicious and that a bit of caffeine every now and then does wonder to get me through a boring work day.
