Key Chain Size Solar ChargerClimbing moutains means enjoying the nature, not your gadgets, but a working mobile phone can be your only escape from an accident. Or maybe you just want to call your friend to tell her how nice the seaside is.

Either way, the Key Chain Size Solar Charger seems to be a solution to your charging issues. It’s solar powered, so all the environmentalists out there will probably appreciate it. It comes with a five connector adapter to work with most cell phones (Sony Ericsson Fast Port, Samsung, mini USB (for Motorola/HTC/Dopod/MP3/MP4), Nokia (2mm), Nokia (3.5mm)). What we don’t know is how much it takes for a phone to be fully charged or at least usable. Probably a lot, but for an emergency it might just do the trick.

Plug It

Plug It
One of the things I dislike most about my camera and my phone is that they require extra cables to connect them to a PC. Of course, conversations like “Sorry, I can’t show you the photos now, I don’t have the USB cable with me” are frequent, because I can never remember to take it along.

The Plug It seems a perfect solution for me. It’s an USB cable with an attractive design which can be used as a keychain or cell phone charm, to make sure you never run into problems like the one above. It’s available in various colors and models and offers microUSB, mini USB and connectors for Nokia and Samsung (a Sony Ericsson is apparently on the way). The price tag is very wallet-friendly, so I think this could be a great hit.

Lightbulb Phone Charm

Lightbulb Phone CharmHaving something to hang off my mobile phone is not a priority of mine - actually, I think it would bother me. And I’ve seen so many ugly phone charms… no thank you.

But wait. There’s one I really like. The Lightbulb Phone Charm is small(er), it looks nice, and it lights up to discreetly let you know that you have an incoming call. Much better than making all the world listen to your new loud and annoying ringtone, right? Please agree with me.

Make Your Own Bag or Phone Charm

Make Your Own Bag or Phone CharmEver since I saw the first phone charm, I thought it was a stupid idea. Why yes, I’d love something hanging from my phone to get tangled in my pocket or to scratch my screen, great idea!

But, if you’re intent on having one, you could at least make it yourself. It will be something that represents you, especially if you’ve got an artsy side (or maybe you have one and you just haven’t dicovered it yet…). This Phone Charm Kit comes with assorted diamantes, assorted beads, sequins, ribbon, elastic cord, keychain and charms, plus instructions in case you’re a newbie in the crafts area.

invisibleSHIELD

invisibleSHIELDSay you just bought an iPhone. And then say you’re like me and tend to… *ahem* not take proper care of yout cell phones. Maybe you accidentally bump it against the table or a wall, or you throw it in your bag in the same pocket as the keys. I guess you can imagine the nasty scratches this will lead to, and you probably don’t like the prospect. You could probably find a cover, but I personally hate them, they make my phone so much more difficult to work.

There is a better solution, however, if you’re prepared to pay some money. The invisibleSHIELD is a tough, clear film that will shield your iPhone and protect it from scratches. And, the best part, the material is so resistant that it doesn’t get scratched either. The invisibleSHIELD originated in the military, where it was designed to protect the leading edges of helicopter blades from getting scratched by rocks and debris, so a key or a table corner is no match for it.

If this sounds good, but you don’t have an iPhone, don’t worry. The invisibleSHIELD comes in a lot of sizes, for devices such as iPods, smartphones, cell phones, camera LCDs, GPSs, laptops and more.

Socket Pocket

Socket PocketA while ago we had the Cell Phone Holder, a device with a plastic “shelf” to put your various devices on while charging. Since it’s such a great idea, someone else came up with a different (better?) approach.

The Socket Pocket employs the same basic technique: something next to your outlet that holds the device. The difference is that, in this case, the phone or iPod or PDA or whatever sits in a plastic pocket, so it is also protected from getting hit and/or falling off. I know me, and I tend to run into things… The pocket is big enough for an iPod to fit in, as you can see from this picture.

Socket Pocket

All in all, the Socket Pocket seems to me better than the Cell Phone Holder, because you can be sure your phone stays there and doesn’t end up on the floor (unless there’s an earthquake, in which case you might not have a floor anymore, anyway).

Moshi Monster Mopods

Moshi Monster MopodsThis one’s for the ladies (and those guys who aren’t afraid of hanging a fluffy toy monster on their cell$ phone).

The Moshi Monster Mopods live in a clear plastic case and, beside being a mobile accesory that looks cute, they also alert you of incoming calls and text messages. Now you can put your cell phone on silent during movies or conferences and you won’t miss a call - your Moshi will spin and spin and make sure you notice it. See one in action:

You can choose from 6 models, each with its own name, looks and personality: Diavlo, Furi, Katsuma, Luvli, Poppet and Zommer.

Cell Phone Holder

Cell Phone HolderWhat’s the last time you tripped over that pesky cable from your cell phone charger? And in the process knocked your cell to the floor and had the battery pop out? Ok, mine has a proper case and I’ve never had a battery incident, but I can’t count the scratches… I keep it on my night stand and, well, I don’t exactly look where I’m going. Cable, feet, bam! phone on the floor.

The Cell Phone Holder (hopefully) means the end of this. It’s amazingly simple: a specially-shaped piece of plastic which hangs between the outlet and the charger. You just put your phone (or iPod, or PDA, or whatever else needs charging) on it and you’re good to go. It measures 4½” high x 4″wide x 3″ deep.

I can see only one problem: what if the outlet you use isn’t on the wall? It becomes pretty useless if you’re using a multiplug… So don’t forget to think about location before buying it.
