Fitting wheels on small pieces of furniture can make for easy and quick home redecoration, but most of them are purely functional. If you’re dreaming of the perfect children’s room, a bunch of Smiles:-) Wheels would look much better.

They come in 2 types – with or without brakes – and 4 cute models: cow, bear, mouse and plane. The metallic part can be mounted on virtually any piece of furniture with enough even pieces, but… there’s a but. You pay a (large) premium for having cute cow support your kids’ cabinets: €6.80 for the no-wheel version and €8.77 for the other, which can add up to a lot in the end.

Solar System Floor Puzzle

The floor is usually covered in boring carpets, but for some lucky kids with cool parents, it could be covered in stars. Well, one star and a bunch of planets.

The Solar System Floor Puzzle is 2 x 3 feet, but doesn’t come with the 5.000 regular pieces that would be needed to cover such a big chunk. 48 big ones is enough to recreate the solar system and, even though for an adult the size might not sound so impressive, kids are bound to have a blast playing and learning.

Because children and cardboard don’t go very well together, the puzzle is 20% thicker than its run of the mill cousins and comes with an easy to wipe surface. I can hear some parents sighing with relief now.

It’s time for another installment of “Why didn’t they make things so cool when I was a kid?”.

Little Tommy watches WALL-E. Then he comes home and, look, mummy and daddy got him a new toy! It has keys and things happen when he pushed them!

The WALL-E Learning Laptop is an interactive copy of the animated robot, but its job isn’t cleaning up Earth. It’s meant to help children (ages 4 and up) to develop certain key skills through fun activities, and it addresses 5 areas: letters, words, math, logic and games.

It’s got a flip-down QWERTY keyboard, moving arm controllers and a small LCD screen, enough to be fun but not overly complicated.

Too bad we adults are past the learning-by-playing phase..
