A Flying Alarm Clock is pretty effective, I’d say. What’s the catch? Well, there’s a propeller on top of the clock. The alarm goes off, the propeller flies across the room – and the alarm doesn’t stop until you put it back. The theory is that, by the time you find the damn thing under the bed or desk or hidden in your pile of clothes, you’ll already be awake enough not to crawl back to bed. It’s a totally evil method of waking up, but hey, it works. You’ll probably hate your clock in a few days, but at least you’ll get to work in time so you can make money to buy friendlier gadgets.

You are really confident in your geeky manhood?

Well then, for both situations you’ve got the eternal favorite: the propeller hat! But not any hat – the HacKer HaT. It’s pretty obvious you can only use it as a funny/annoying gift or as a real good way of making fun of yourself (or maybe torturing a kid who won’t understand why everyone’s laughing at him), but it looks… strangely attractive.

You have lots of options to choose from: beanie with propeller (you can even add extra propellers), baseball hat (no propeller), beanie (no propeller). Which means that, thankfully, you can still get one of these and look normal.

How much under $29.99?
A little: $26.95 for the propeller version on GeekCulture.com ($18.95 for the simple beanie).
