Hang ‘n Hide Folding Laundry Rack

Hang 'n Hide Folding Laundry RackI like having people over and I try to make them as comfortable as possible. I have a guest room (usually known as “the office”), but after seeing a friend hang her shirts on the side of the door I realized that room isn’t very convenient for someone who wants to spend a longer amount of time.

I promptly forgot the thought… until I saw the Hang ‘n Hide Folding Laundry Rack. It’s exactly what I was looking for. It mounts on the door or wall and, when extended, it offers space for about 17 hangers; when folded, you almost don’t know it’s there, which makes it perfect for a room that’s not frequently used.

Then again, it’s a bit on the expensive side, so I’ll have to think long and hard about exactly how much comfort I want to offer my guests…

Travel Tray

Travel TrayThis is by no means a new idea (I have a bread basket like this), but it’s smart enough to warrant a mention.

The Travel Tray is extremely simple to use and can be indispensable for the messy people among us. It’s probably more useful for travel, but I could use it perfectly well around the house – for example to store my 4 or 5 sets of keys (don’t ask), which I can never find.

It’s extremely convenient as opposed to other storage trays because it’s flat, so it takes up virtually no room in your bags, and when assembled you get a 8 x 5 x 2″ deep basket, with a separate compartment for your glasses.

Mini Coat Rack Jewelry Stand

Mini Coat Rack Jewelry StandI’m not big on jewelry, but even the 4 or 5 necklaces I have always end up in one big knot, no matter how tidy I try to put them in the box. It’s just… a box doesn’t work for delicate necklaces. They will get tangled up, and the most difficult to untangle will be the one you want to wear tonight.

My temporary solution was hanging them on a couple of nails I hammered in the cupboard where I kept them. But the Mini Coat Rack Jewelry Stand looks much better and offers more storage space. With 6 large and 6 small hooks it can hold a lot of things – not only necklaces, but also rings, bracelets, earrings -, keeping them handy and tidy.

A bit too expensive, maybe, but sometimes spending a little is preferable to lots of daily frustration.

Clear Top Ring Box

Clear Top Ring BoxIf you’ve got a lot of jewelry, some items remains unworn because you just don’t run into them… And it’s difficult to keep a mental list of all the necklaces or rings you have.

A Clear Top Ring Box sounds like a very good idea for a girl who has a lot of jewelry. One, you can easily see through it, so no more opening and closing a dozen boxes. Two, it keep everything in order, so you won’t have look for that ruby ring from grandma under a bunch of bracelets. Three, it’s big enough to fit a lot of rings.

Sunbeam Hot Iron Storage Case

Sunbeam Hot Iron Storage Case“Don’t come near me while I’m ironing” is among the first lessons a child learns. Hot = bad. Mum or dad have to pay constant attention and, even if your house is toddler-free, we all know that a moment of distraction can mean a nasty burn. I always try to store the cooling iron in the most remote corner of the room, because I am perfectly capable of stepping on it… and that probably hurts a lot.

I love the concept of the Sunbeam Hot Iron Storage Case and I’m sure it will make a lot of people happy, because it lets you store you iron as soon as you’re done with it. No more waiting for it to cool down, no more worrying about accidents, no more accidentally knocking it over the bed and making a hole in the cover. Even better, you can mount it on a wall to save space.
