Turbo USB Mini Vacuum

If you ever want to give me a present, find me a good keyboard vacuum. My desk is also my dining table, so let’s just say my keyboards are less than clean.

Although I’m not sure how powerful a $12 vacuum can be, the Turbo USB Mini Vacuum does sound very good. It has a LED so you can see what you’re doing, a retractable brush and a turbo mode for extra power in case you run into stubborn breadcrumbs. And it’s small, so you can easily stash it in a drawer until the next time you eat like a pig right on your poor defenseless keyboard.

Keyboard Vacuum

My keyboard hates me. It hasn’t told me yet, but I feel it every day. You see, I can’t eat in the kitchen. It’s boring. I’ve been eating while staring at a screen for years, and this means that a large amount of food ends up inside the keyboard. Not good at all.

My keyboard would definitely appreciate the Keyboard Vacuum. It even has four attachments to get to every crumb or dust bunny! The problem with this kind of vacuums is usually power… and that, I don’t know if it has. But so far it looks like the best vacuum of this type I’ve seen. And, unlike desk vacuums, it does something very useful and difficult to accomplish otherwise.

USB Desk Assortment and Gift Set

I’m usually a big fan of everything that comes from ThinkGeek, but today… not so much, sorry.

USB Desk Assortment and Gift Set may sound fancy, but it’s actually not that impressive. It’s got a lot of things, but none of them look too useful to me. A cup warmer (ok, might come in handy), a flexible mini task lamp (vaguely useful), a mini vacuum cleaner (which can only clean small crumbs), a pen holder with a LED light in its base (useless) and an open USB port (useful if it wasn’t 1.1).

So, 5 could-be-useful-but-there’s-better items in one. One big thing that probably takes up a quarter of your desk. At least it’s got a 50% discount.

Robo Vacum

Yesterday we had the USB Vacuum Mouse – an unfortunate invention, in my opinion. Today we have the Robo Vacum (yes, only one ‘u’, don’t ask me why), which I like much better.

For one, it’s cuter. Second, it doesn’t claim to do everything – it’s just a desk vacuum. You push the head of the robot and then slide it over the crumbs, which are stored in a special compartment. Simple and (hopefully) effective.

USB Vacuum mouse

I’m sorry, I can’t help it. It’s another wacky mouse. This time, it sucks. Literally. Well, figurately too, to an extent.

Without further ado: the USB Vacuum mouse. As basic 3-button mice go, it’s very ugly. Even the cheapest mice I ever owned looked better than it. But what’s supposed to make it special is its special function: vacuuming. If you often use your desk as a table and get crumbs all over it, the Vacuum mouse could help you. Just flip a switch and the mouse turns into a miniature vacuum that gets rid of all the mess.

It might be useful… but I can find much easier ways of cleaning my desk. Decent mouse + a tissue > Vacuum mouse. No thanks, Thanko.
